Inoculation explained.
Inoculation is the process of adding rhizobia bacteria to the soybean seed, starting a partnership between rhizobia bacteria and the soybean plant. The rhizobia bacteria colonizes on the roots of a soybean plant in the form of nodules. In this form, the rhizobium takes nitrogen from the air and converts it into a form that the soybean plant can use. This promotes healthier and more vigorous growth, resulting in higher yields. The better the quality of the bacteria, the more efficient the nitrogen production. Soybean plants prefer nitrogen from natural sources (nodules) rather than manufactured nitrogen fertilizers.
